Checkweighers for automatic weight control of 20 and 25 kg bags of construction chemicals, installed in two factories.
In-line dynamic weighing
Bags of 20 and 25 kg are weighed automatically while moving along the conveyor, and the measured weight is compared with the permitted range.
Tolerance of approx. ±40 g
Bags are checked with an acceptance tolerance of approximately ±40 g relative to the nominal weight – this is the acceptance range applied on the production line.
Stable measurement on a vibrating line
The existing line in one of the factories had an old mechanical structure with strong vibration, which is a serious engineering challenge for dynamic weighing. Weight signal filtering and signal processing reduced the effect of vibration, so the system operates within the required tolerance.
Automatic rejection
For bags outside the permitted range the system provides a contact output for rejection, so non-compliant bags are separated from the production flow.
Integration into the plant automation
- Factory 1: weighing data is transferred to the existing Siemens S7-1500 PLC
- Factory 2: weighing data is transferred via Modbus TCP to the existing SCADA system
