Automatic loading, transfer, turning and stacking of panels on a floor panel sizing line – mechanics and automation delivered as a single package.
System and application
Two two-axis servo Cartesian systems operate at the infeed and outfeed of the line. The infeed system automatically loads panels into the sizing line, and the outfeed system stacks the finished panels at the end of the line.
A three-axis pneumatic transfer was developed to move panels between the two sizing machines. It picks up the panel after the first operation, turns it and returns it to the line for the second operation.
In this way the panel's entire path – from entering the line to stacking at the end of the process – is automated, with no manual handling.
Scope of supply
The sizing machines themselves were not part of the supply. The supply covered the infeed and outfeed Cartesian systems, the pneumatic transfer between the machines, the mechanics, the electrical and control integration, and commissioning of the system.
The project was delivered in cooperation with our partner engineering team.
