Yaskawa frequency inverters

A frequency inverter controls the speed and torque of a three-phase motor. It enables soft starting and stopping, precise speed adjustment to the process and energy savings on pumps, fans and compressors.
Yaskawa covers applications from simple conveyors and fans to cranes, elevators and high-power plants. Regenerative inverters and units return braking energy to the grid instead of turning it into heat in braking resistors.

How to choose a frequency inverter
- Motor power and current and the load duty: heavy duty (HD) for conveyors, mixers and hoists, normal duty (ND) for pumps and fans.
- Power supply: 200 V class (single-phase or three-phase) or 400 V class (three-phase).
- Motor type and control method: induction or permanent magnet (PM) motor, V/f or vector control, with or without encoder.
- Communication and safety: network to the PLC (option boards) and the need for the Safe Torque Off (STO) function.
- Accessories: EMC filters, reactors, braking resistors and units, and mounting kits.
